He hosted Match of the Day 34 times last season, 47 hours in total.  He also presented 11 FA Cup live and highlights shows, lasting 26 hours 45 minutes.  The BBC has come under fire for paying presenters and execs huge salaries while taking free licences away from pensioners.  We revealed how the Corporation had frittered away £745m - the same sum it says it needs to keep the cherished perk.  We pay for your stories!
