Seiko SPB051 Review - A Modern 62MAS Dive Watch - Big Hit Or Miss?

Seiko SPB051 Review - A Modern 62MAS Dive Watch - Big Hit Or Miss? Back in 2017 I posted an unboxing of Seiko's new release and modern incarnation of the legendary 62MAS. Unfortunately, due to a scheduling conflict and several technical problems, I was unable to complete the review of the SPB051, even after spending many weeks getting to know the watch. However, thanks to my new partners at WatchBox, anything is possible and when I asked if I could review it, they of course said yes!

Finally, almost 2 years later, I have the opportunity to share my feelings on a watch that caused such a fuss with the ardent Seiko diver fans, and do it justice with a lifestyle review.

Was it a big hit or a mistake? Is it worth the $1000 price tag? How does it fit in with an already oversaturated Prospex line? Why is this watch so important, and why are Seiko dive watches so highly respected? There’s quite a lot to talk about here, so let’s dive in!
