The GoPro Suction Cup mount is a great option to mount your cameras on smooth surfaces such as in your car, but it has a major limitation in that you can not pan the cameras attached to it. If you want to switch the pan axis, you have to remove the mount and re-mount, which can be a pain if you are doing something like driving and want to switch the view. You would have to pull over in your car.

Attaching the GoPro Swivel Mount to the Suction Cup Mount is a way to remedy this problem. With the Swivel Mount you can change the camera's orientation on the pan axis without having to unmount the suction cup. This allows you to be able to more easily change your camera angle while driving where you may only have one hand free.

I tested this combo on both the GoPro Hero 7 Black and the DJI Osmo Pocket. Both cameras exercised great stabilization on this setup when mounted properly. Even when securely and tightly fastened the mount still shakes when driving, but both cameras were able to stabilize anyway. However the DJI Osmo Pocket has to be mounted upright, if mounted upside down there is too much shake for the gimbal to stabilize.

The downside to this combo is the cost, the suction cup is $40 and the swivel mount is $20, but they are well built and it gives you the peace of mind knowing what you are getting. There are suction cup mounts on Amazon and other retailers that have the swivel ball head built in for a cheaper cost(~$40) but the quality is uncertain.
