Nelson Chamisa Getting Ready for GNU with ED Mnangagwa Yesterday, my fears were confirmed that Nelson Chamisa is slowly beggining to accept the possibility of a GNU with ED Mnangagwa.
Yesterday there were two major press conferences that revealed how weak and indecisive Nelson Chamisa has became.
In the first Press Conference: MDC Spokesman Molokeli and Exective member Mashakada failed to make any demands regarding the de-dollarisation. Instead, they made some very academin statements condeming the introduction of the new Zim Dollar and then demanded Dialogue.
On the other hand, the ZCTU President Peter Gift Mutasa had his own Press Conference where he was firm and unequivocal in his condemnation of the new Zimbabwe Dollar and its impact on ordinary Zimbabweans and Workers.
The ZCTU is going into the TNF to demand USD Salaries. They demanded an immediate reversal of the decision to de-dollarise and threatened to immediately call for Mass Action if this is not done.
Its clear that the Nelson Chamisa has lost his teeth. If you have been observing, you will notice that Nelson Chamisa has been rather quiet after his meeting with SB Moyo and the British Representatives in Zimbabwe.
My opinion is that Nelson Chamisa has lost his appetite for taking the fight to ZANU-PF. Instead, he is seriously considering the offer of a position in a GNU with ED Mnangagwa.
This is a very bad mistake, as his current approach of being silent in the face of such a major policy mistake by ZANU-PF is costing him supporters and confusing his followers.
If you remember well, Nelson Chamisa was always speaking about kudira Jecha. If he goes into a GNU with ZANU-PF he will be eating Sadza rine Jecha.
L also want to remind you that this is the third time Zimbabweans are losing their savings and pensions to a ZANU-PF government.
On all these three occassions, the MDC has been found complicit with ZANU-PF. On the first occassion, Tendai Biti was Finance Minister and all ZImbabwe Dollar balances were wiped off. On the 2nd occassion, when the Bond notes were introduced, it was Pastor Evan and Advocate Mahere who took John Mangudya of the Reserve Bank to task. On that occassion, the MDC was in Disarray. Disillusioned younge people flocked in support of the #ThisFlagMovement.
Now, we have this surprising intertia from Nelson Chamisa. Besides a few tweets, there has been nothing of substance in the form of a robust plan of action.
When we were at university, it was known that the government would not act before we went on the streets. Now, nelson Chamisa and his team dont even need to call for protests.
The right thing for Nelson Chamisa to do will be to come out and call for Mass action in support of the ZCTU. This should be done today if there is no agreement in the TNF. Even A MAss Stay away for one month would drop the ED Mnangagwa Government. This should be easy because people do not have money and the situation is about to get worse.
Instead, we have this Lukewarm response and inappropriate call reaction call for Dialogue from the MDC.
So, we now await the outcome of the TNF today. Lets hope ZCTU carries out their promise and force ED Mnangagwa 's Government to back down. Otherwise, as far as Nelson Chamisa is concerned, we will soon hear that he is in Negotiations with ED Mnangagwa for a GNU!
