This is how the classical spartans are able to do whatever they want and like. Not needing to feel trapped in doing menial mundane tasks.
In this video we will talk a little bit on some greek history, the history of how the city-state of sparta functioned such they, the spartans are able to dedicate their entire lives in pursuit of something more than making money. Yes, if you study them in more details they are actually fighting for survival to keep the status Quo. They had to commit massacres to keep the swelling populations of Helots/Slaves low to avoid being overthrown.
Slavery is NOT OKAY. I am against people who force their will on others. I too believe in free speech, freedom of choice etc. We just need to take responsibility of the choices we make. In classical greek, there were numerous City-States and towns who are pretty much self-governing and independent of each other. Yes there are some who form alliances and partnerships etc. There are also colonies that they establish. 3 of the few more prominent cities out there are Thebes(which at that time was one of their largest city-state in terms of population), Athens(well known actually for the short period after their fight with the Persians. Their golden age was when their Navy ruled supreme and when they were leading an alliance of cities gather together as the Dalian League. And last of cos there's Sparta. Well ingrained in our imaginations as the city with fierce and tough warriors.
Where the countless movies, books, comics. tv-series were inspired by. Including the Movie 300 and its Comic adaptation which it was taken from.
So the main Gist of how the Spartans are able to train and keep themselves crazily fit all day long without needing to worry about putting food on the table was because they were allotted slaves by their state. Each Spartan were allotted slaves and lands which they could get their income from. Their slaves or Helots will perform all manner of tasks besides producing food and manufactures for them. They would tidy the master Spartan's house. The state would also use Helots to do public works such as building and maintaining roads etc. The only problem the Spartan's system face was risk of rebellion and revolt which happened quite often over their history. It became a looping cycle where they had to constantly keep their military feared to deter rebellious thoughts. And by having to train all day long, they require more Helots to upkeep their society and the entire city itself. For us, when I was young I thought Automation, robots will solve the need for us to work in the future. Automation is coming along over the years. However for us now to be truely free we would need to own investments or properties, assets that can generate us passive income into the future. As long as the passive income is consistent, able to beat any inflation, can grow organically by itself. You are financially free. You dont need to worry if there will be food on the table, if the house payment/rent will be due. You can do whatever your hearts desire as long as it's moral and not illegal of cos.
