There could be multiple low pressure systems to come off the west coast for the next couple of weeks due to the new pattern changes. These low pressure systems will bring very heavy snow and rain for much of the west coast, and these low pressure systems will come on after the other for the next 2 weeks! This will cause a ton of issues such as travel issues, flooding, low visibility and even strong winds. We could see frequent snow in mostly the Sierra’s but we could see some snow and rain head east towards the Rockies! There will be very heavy snow which while cause mostly white out conditions, which could last as long as a week! A foot of snow could fall in one snowstorm and there can even be snow very close to the coast, which is pretty rare! With the major arctic blasts coming in from Canada, the snow and rain while last a lot longer! This super cold air while cause the snow close to the coast and in the highest elevations to stay for a while, which means the snow totals while only add up when the next low arrives! There could be 2-3 feet in the highest elevations! Now for the rain, there will be very heavy rain but mostly for the west coast, since they’ll be a bit warmer and will just see the rain since they are at a low elevation! There while frequent flooding for major cities such as Seattle, Portland, San Francisco and much more.
