Today we are going to look at how to give your retail boxes and eye-catching twist!
As this is important for so many different reasons, there have been studies conducted that have shown the consumers will go to the supermarket & pick up an item based on its packaging, branding or how something is looking. Not often do customers go to the supermarket having in mind what to pick out and browse for next. Whatever catches their eye first is what typically goes with it. So, you want that item to be your product, then be sure to have an eye-catching packaging something that the consumer is going to look for and grab it.
• Take an early start
One of the best ways to have eye-catching twists on your packaging is to brainstorm ahead of time. Come up with ideas by asking your friends, family or business partners for suggestions and opinions. Get the various different ideas by brainstorming in a large group and have a list of ongoing ideas ready.
So when you are ready to make changes or implement these eye-catching twists you can pull an idea from your list you prepared and ready in no need to stress and deadlines or time crunches.
• Gather inspirations for enticing designs
Browse around to get inspiration from different sources but by no means, you should be copying another person’s design. Just gather little bits and pieces of things that you see, you like in other packaging boxes. You could easily open up a magazine, go to the store and just look for ideas you really like. Maybe it is a color pattern, font style, and color of the box or maybe it is the way a box is shaped. Whenever a few things you liked from each design that you see, take that make it your own do your own twist at it and create a really nice, unique and enticing design.
• Give your products creative design
A good example is with the shape of the packaging, for example, if you have a product that has to do with strawberries, strawberry-flavor or strawberry scent. You can put an image of actual strawberries that will entice a customer to grab it off the shelf. Another example would be if your product has something to do with flowers or scent of flowers, putting a bouquet of flowers or different styles of flowers on the packaging box to get the customer to buy it. So whether your product has to do with fruit, flowers or clothing, etc. Use an image that relates to your product and place it on your packaging.
• Don’t lose objectivity towards your product
You want to make sure that you have the product in packaging that is enticing and has a very eye-catching detail and is going to attract consumers, but you also want to make sure that you stay true to what your product actually is.
About this can cause a consumer to reach for your eye-catching packaging but when they open and realize what the actually inside is different than they may put it back. This is something you do not want with your product so make sure that your packaging is related to your actual product.
• With the aid of a designer
It never hurts to get the second opinion by a professional designer who has experience in coming up with various designs, who can make you vision a clear reality. This will save you time, money and effort by letting a professional handle it for you. It will take the stress out of your hands and the result may come out better than you probably think it will.
• Print necessary ingredients and product details
Finally, it is also vital to list all the details and specifications of the product. As your customer can check the instructions, ingredients, and details to be more aware of the product.
