Harry and Meghan Give Up Royal Titles: Their New Roles Explained

Harry and Meghan Give Up Royal Titles: Their New Roles Explained The Queen has set out details of the new "progressive" roles for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

It’s after the couple announced they would be “stepping back” as senior royals.

The Queen’s official statement said they had found a “constructive” way forward after holding discussions.

Here are some of the new announcements:
- Harry and Meghan will no longer use their HRH titles
- Their scheduled royal engagements will end in Spring 2020
- Harry will give up all his honorary military titles
- They will repay the £2.4 million of public funds spent on Frogmore Cottage

Although they'll keep the Berkshire home as their official UK resident, the couple are likely to spend most of their time in Canada after the 'transition period' ends.

They will be able to earn their own money, although the Prince of Wales will still support them.

The Queen thanked them for their “dedicated work” across the UK and Commonwealth.

She said she was “proud” of how quickly Meghan had become “one of the family”.
