Protests across India against the Citizenship Amendment Act entered their fourth day. In Delhi's Jamia Nagar, the police fired tear gas on students. Elsewhere, protestors burned buses and two-wheelers.
In a statement soon after, Jamia students condemned the violence and disassociated themselves from it. Meanwhile, the police crackdown has continued unabated. There are reports of the police firing tear gas at the library and locking the gates of the campus and hostels. The police have fanned out, looking for students involved in the protests. In at least one case which The Wire was able to record, Delhi Police constables can be seen beating a male student who did not resist being arrested.
