Typhoon Phanfone (Ursula) Moving into Philippine Straits, December 24th 23:00 PHT

Typhoon Phanfone has moved across the island of Samar and has emerged into the Philippine straights, where it is expected to strengthen slightly from its current intensity of 85kts (100mph).



Phanfone is expected to move west-northwestward toward Mindoro, which can expect stage 5 CDPS impacts on the island in 24 hours, as the highest rainfall and winds are expected there.



Signal 2 warnings are up for most of the Samar Islands and into Masbate Island with Signal 1 warnings ahead in Talbas and North and South of the Samar Region of the Philippines
