KEF 3001 SE EGG sound demo. No Sub. Where do you go from here? What I call the blade microns

I'll tell ya the Active EGG system and the E301s wouldn't be a worthy successor to these and don't seem to be. It's pretty obvious that the active EGGs and the E301 were successors to the 2005.3 front port and all.

These seem to be technically the lab exercise that led to the blade and LS series, 2.2 kHz crossover, oblong baffle and all.

if you're upgrading from the 3001s the E301s would be more of of sideways climb: down to the 2005.3s then back up to the E301s

there's something really fun about a system that sounds amazingly full and rich at library sound levels.

The idea of a volume sweet spot seems to need more exploration if we want to divisify the speaker industry further. the next step is mesh networked sound systems that sound consistently smooth rich and pure at volumes you can comfortably talk over or sleep to.

We just came from the loudness wars and I declare the next thing to be the quietness wars: who can make the best sounding ambient sound system that sounds just as clear pure and rich at the softest volumes. the biggest challenge is to get bass to sound musical tight and punchy at less than 40db but there's plenty of ways to achieve this.
