Free speech protesters, supported by groups such as Yellow Vest Dublin and the Irish Freedom Party organised a demonstration, which was met with counter-protests, dubbed the 'Rally for Peace on Earth' hosted by the Solidarity Alliance against Racism and Fascism (SARF).
The initial protests were organised to coincide with the end of public consultation on new hate speech laws in Ireland.
Three people were arrested at the demonstrations, according to reports.
