The Security Association Singapore (SAS) has criticised the 2019 grading exercise for security agencies. It said security standards have improved, but the grading method did not reflect that. 235 security agencies took part in the assessment and were evaluated using new criteria, with greater emphasis on tech adoption and on outcomes. The results were largely similar to those in 2018. 82 agencies achieved scores of 95% and above, but only 63 were awarded an "A" because the cut-off point had been pushed up to 96%. The SAS, which represents about 180 companies, said this may give the false impression that agencies have not improved from 2018 to 2019.
