ELEGANT WALL HANGING DECOR | Creating Enlightened Housing Out of Ordinary Crate

We begin by applying a coat of varnish all around the crate, making sure all areas are evenly covered. Then we mark 4 points where the lights will be placed and one point for the hook to be drilled in later. We drill in one small hole on the bottom right side for the wiring.

Next up, we’re going to create a design which is based on stems and branches of a tree using thin bamboo sticks. We mark the points and cut them up accordingly and we start forming the stem by glueing it up. Then we work on the branches and carefully place them along the stem and glue on smaller sticks to complete the look.

After screwing in the hook, we use plastic glue to place 4 LEDs along the crate. The LEDs will be powered by a couple of AA batteries and the battery case needs to be properly blended into our decor. We take a few craft sticks and cut them into the right length and glue it up good; making sure most coverage is achieved. Then we pass the wire through the hole we made at the beginning and glue the battery case in place. Once we’ve soldered the wires, we’re good to go!

You can fill it up with decorations of your choice; we’ve gone with a plant and stone based theme. Flip the switch and light up this stunning piece of art which can be hung on any wall.
