From what I know, Neutron Stars are formed primarily from super giant stars that have gone super nova. They're comprised of highly dense and compacted neutrons, hence the title. And have a very small radius of like typically 18 miles in diameter. And have massively powerful magnetic forces that cause very high rotation. These electromagnetic rotations called pulsars also emit bright and high amounts of radiation at the poles of a neutron star. Also makes it detectable for us!
