The plan by government to enforce a policy to regulate religious organisations, to guard against some rogue pastors, has set off a combustible contest amongst faith-based groups. Among the proposals in the draft policy, faith-based outfits are expected to be registered, train their pastors in theological doctrine and have a cordial relationship with government. Those against the enforcement of this policy are accusing the State of attempting to regulate an inherent right largely within the Pentecostal church. They fear that the creeping hand of the State could be targeted at the rising charismatic pentecostal preachers, who have declined to tow the line of an unwritten credo. #NTVPANORAMA #NTVNews
