DETAILS: Firefighters were called to a medical emergency by the mother of a 1-year-old infant that was badly burned by hot water. The Police were called by the Firefighters. The mother told the Police that she had put the infant and her 3-year-old child in the bathtub, but had not put in any water. The mother left the children when she had ordered some food & the delivery driver arrived, so she went downstairs to get the food. When she came back upstairs, she said, she heard the baby screaming and said that her 3-year-old had turned on the water and it was extremely hot water. The mother also told the Police, she has complained to the owner of the apartments about the extremely hot water. The baby was transported to the UCSD Burn Center with 3rd-degree burns over 70% of its body. The baby was put into a medically induced coma and is on a ventilator. NCPD Detectives are at the hospital (Sunday) conducting their investigation and interviews. The investigation is ongoing as of Monday and the NCPD is being tight-lipped about the investigation. Her story had many holes in her version of what happened.

11-14-19 UPDATE: The mother, Chole McClure (changed her name since the incident took place) was arrested this morning at the place of her employment in Clairemont Mesa. She is being charged with several felonies including Felony Child Endangerment.
