If you do not prepare for the next outside edge correctly, the exercise becomes very hard. This can be tricky at first as there is quite a lot of things to at the same time during each outside edge, so it is easy to get muddled up.
To succeed, you must understand the concept of how your arms move in unison with your feet.
Once mastered, it can be a very satisfying move to do.
This basic concept of preparing for the next step is one that will be used often in more advanced ice skating exercises.
