How to encourage greater levels of diversity and inclusivity within the manufaturing industry was discussed within this workshop, chaired by Lisa Strutt and Sinead Sharkey-Steenson of Lean In Belfast and Career Reboot. This discussion covered reasons why industry needs and should actively work towards improving diversity of personal within its workforce and strategies and actions that could be put in place to achieve these goals.
Greater diversity within manufacturing and industry in general helps to increase, brand and customer satisfaction, improved workforce morale, greater levels of innovation, reduced levels of risk and exposure to market downturns and more importantly increased turnover and profit.
