'Beyond the Shadows' Appalachian Storytelling in Shadow Puppet Cinema - Thick and Peculiar Mist

World-renowned puppeteer and guest teaching artist Christopher D. Mullens assisted us in the creation of characters based on the Folk Tales of Steven J. York's Living Cinema Experience Thick and Peculiar Mist.
Inspired by first-person accounts, this multi-disciplinary collaboration between theatre, film, story-telling, art and photography highlights the work of 15 incredible artists working in puppetry, fabrication, foley sound, cinematography, experimental film developing and editing creating four one of-a-kind vignettes screened in front of a live audience in just five days time.

This piece will be integrated into the greater Thick and Peculiar Mist Living Cinema Experience in coming months, with a live score and musical performance to follow shortly after.
