This is something that I've been looking for for ages, a front bay on my PC that allows me to have a removable 3.5" SATA hard drive bay without the need for the drives to be in a caddy system.
I've had similar systems in the past but you had to put the 3.5 inch SATA hard drive into a caddy, which in turn then connected to a bay that was only designed to work with that caddy. In this instance the drive bay simply takes a bare 3.5" SATA drive, so need for a caddy.
The bay itself just fits into a spare 5.25" front bay on a PC, those typically used for mounting CD ROM and DVD ROM drives etc. It even comes with the four screws to fasten it into a spare 5.25" drive bay. The bay's mechanism also has a locking system as well. If your motherboard supports the function then you can also hot swap the drives as well, if not a simple power cycle is all that's needed to swap to a different hard drive.
