TI MORNE RESIDENTS CALL FOR URGENT ACTION TO SAVE THEIR HOMES

TI MORNE RESIDENTS CALL FOR URGENT ACTION TO SAVE THEIR HOMES A number of homeowners in the Ti Morne community are calling on the Department of Infrastructure to
address the issue of poor drainage and deplorable road conditions in the area which they say is affecting
the structural integrity of their homes.
According to a few residents of the area, the issues of poor drainage and bad road conditions have been
lingering problems for years. They want the matter to be finally addressed before they lose their homes.
One resident who spoke on condition of anonymity says
government relocated a number of residents from the Millennium
Highway and Babonneau when the secondary school was being
constructed. They were moved to the Ti Morne community but a
number of issues given rise to by the relocation were never
addressed
Once it rains heavily, the water over flows the boundaries of the
poorly constructed drains onto the roads and into the homes of the
residents.
Added to that, due to the bad condition of the road, the garbage
truck is unable to go beyond a certain point causing some residents
to dispose of their garbage indiscriminately.
The Department of Infrastructure was unavailable for comment on
the matter.
