Malcolm has seen a variety of criticism from fans for not taking the initiative when it comes to intimacy with his Columbian lover, Jeniffer Tarazona. Malcolm also enjoys grooming and dressing nicely, and those with more outdated modes of thinking started launching rumors that Malcolm’s behavior indicated he was gay. Others went out of their way to claim he’s transgender. Malcolm has since responded to these claims, and now he’s opening up about the real reason he decided to take it slow with Jeniffer Tarazona.
90 Day Fiancé fans have been bandying about a bevy of claims when it comes to Tim Malcolm. Malcolm, who dresses nicely and takes care of his skin, has been called both gay and transgender — not that these are bad things to be in the first place.
In fact, 90 Day Fiancé alum Dean Hashim had some thoughtless comments to make during an episode of The Domenick Nati Show. Hashim decided to perpetuate the rumors about Malcolm.
“They way [Tim] crossed his legs, man, it don’t look like he got a pair of balls between ’em. I don’t know man, I can’t even cross my legs like that man, I’m blessed, you know what I mean? I can’t cross my legs like that. He crosses his legs more feminine than she do,” said Hashim, echoing the sentiments of manspreaders the world over.
Hashim then added, “Here’s what I’m thinking, cause look man, me and my brother was saying the other day, he was like, ‘Yo, I think that used to be a female that turned himself into a man. He trying to grow up here, you know. It ain’t ready, it ain’t fresh out the oven yet man. He can’t pull his pants down yet you know? I think what it is, when they get that sex change, they gotta give it time for that peter to grow, like a sprout.”
Malcolm responded to the rumors with, “I’m not transgender. I think it’s cool for the people that want to do that if that’s what you want to do with your life, but that’s not me.”
Fans have also criticized Tim Malcolm for taking his physical relationship with Jeniffer Tarazona slowly. Malcolm and Tarazona didn’t share their first kiss for quite some time, and were not physically intimate in bed.
Many fans thought this behavior added credence to the claims that Malcolm was gay. When asked what he had to say about taking it slow by Entertainment Tonight, Malcolm had a thoughtful response.
“It’s an invigorating day as a man, when you wake up, and you’re no longer controlled by your penis. And that wasn’t my agenda,” explained Malcolm.
“I’m almost 40 years old. I want to be in love. I know sex is an important part of love, but it’s not everything like it used to be. My biggest goal was just building a foundation that I thought would be able to last because I don’t want to be divorced. I’ve waited this long to get married. I’ve never been married,” continued the 90 Day Fiancé star.
“I think that’s just strange that society just thinks if a man says no then he’s gay. If a woman says no, it’s fine. But it’s like the double standard that society has. I kind of laugh about it. I do have some feminine traits. The gay thing was kind of out of left field for me,” concluded Malcolm.
Tim Malcolm has a close relationship with his ex-girlfriend, Veronica. He helps Veronica parent her daughter, though it’s not his biologically, and they chat very frequently. Some fans were wondering if the 90 Day Fiancé would ever get back together with Veronica.
When asked, Malcolm told Us Weekly, “A lot of people will comment that they hope Veronica and I get back together, and I always say the same thing — that ship has sailed!”
Malcolm said, “Romantically we’re not a good fit, but we’re great friends and we are good parents to [daughter] Chloe. That’s as much as we can ask for.”
