Impossible Music Demonstration - An Exploration Of The Possibilities Of Music In The 21st Century

Impossible Music Demonstration - An Exploration Of The Possibilities Of Music In The 21st Century Hello everyone! This new original song is actually a series of five brief original songs that's one of my more ambitious projects to date. I've made some warped music songs and dipped my toe in the shallow end of the kiddie pool of experimental music with the first ten of my Warped Music songs, this one takes it to the next level and combines pitch warping away from the intended sound with pushing it into areas outside of what are normally acceptable for music. While I classify myself as "experimental classical", this goes to the far end of experimental. Here's a brief summary of the five original songs that are the templates for the new music styles of the future.

1. The Dark Underworld - At first listen this just sounds like the logo jingle music for WGBH. But listen closely, it's a complex piece in a very low pitch. A very strange and unorthodox style of music with a heavy pitch bend that allows it to even be audible at all. This trains the ear to listen to music outside of what we categorize as normal or acceptable because we're so used to music resting comfortably in the mid-range of our hearing, similar to our own voices. This is a unique piece that challenges that convention and forces us to listen outside of the box.

2. The Heavens Above - Just like the first one forces you to listen to the low-pitched chords and notes to hear a melody, this one is focused on the higher pitched parts of our range of hearing. At first you'll notice that the chords use the simple I-V-VI-IV progression, I chose that as it's instantly recognizable. Please try to listen to the melody as well, which is as rich and complex as the first melody. It may take a few listens to truly appreciate what I'm going for here.

3. Haunted Brass - This one is within our normal range of listening but it features no clear melody line or bass line, unless you listen to it closely, then you notice they're quite distinct. The notes used a blend of low and high notes combined to form the melody and the bass line, all pitch-adjusted to meet somewhere in the center for an impossible effect.

4. Ghostly Choir - This one blends strings from the lowest notes to the highest notes, pitch shifted to meet in the middle. You end up with what sounds like a haunted house choir backing what sounds like cats imitating violins. These sounds are surreal because they are not like any that real instruments make so they sound surreal or otherworldly to us. Combine the two to get a truly weird effect. This one is spooky and surreal.

5. Car Horn Finale - Pitch shifted piano notes from the lowest part of the piano mixed with pitch-shifted harpsichord notes from the lowest part of the harpsichord sound like car horns. This is a brief concept piece that served as the finale for this medley of very weird, trippy songs.

If you liked this, be sure to check out my other warped music if you haven't heard it yet. If you're new to my channel, I recommend that you take some time to listen to the previous song that I posted on here, "Summer Festival Song", featuring some of my best artwork. But I figured with this being Friday the 13th, it was perfect for a bit of spooky and strange music?
