Château de Fosse-Sèche is a very old Estate, also known as Fossa Sica, with traces of vines dated from 800 and written archives dated from 1238: "quedam domus que dicitur Fossa Sicca...", which stands for “there is a house called Dry-Pit…”. The property of Château de Fosse-Sèche is situated in the Loire Valley’s heart, in Saumur, and seats at 55 meters above sea level. It covers 45 hectares in a single plot, with 17 hectares of Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc vines surrounded by a forest. The winegrowers and owners are twin brothers Adrien and Guillaume Pire. Here, they built one of France’s most advanced fauna and flora sanctuaries.
Château de Fosse-Sèche terroir is fresh, with a windy exposure and a warm flint soil full of iron oxide. The Domain gives extreme care to its certified organic and biodynamic vineyard, producing healthy grapes while fostering biodiversity.
The wines are of utmost precision and subtleness, making it the perfect companion in the art of gastronomy.
