Jewish Americans occupied an Amazon Books store to protest the company's relationship with the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the government's immigration policies in New York City on Sunday, joining other demonstrations across the country as they mark fast day of Tisha B'Av with protests.

"The camps, the elements, the separations, the roundups, and deportations, none of this could happen without the web hosting Amazon provides ICE and the server providers it relies on," said Yehudah Webster, one of the protesters and member of the Jews of Colour organisation.

Demonstrators held up banners reading "Never again means never again" and "Amazon causes family separation," as they were marching.

During their latest operation on August 6, ICE arrested hundreds of migrants in seven food processing plants in different locations around Jackson, Mississippi.
