The Creator Making it personal “A dream about Jesus making it personal below”
Opening Text:
John 1:1-5
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
Despite the disciples' inability to walk on water or even the courage to get out of the boat they never forgot the days when Jesus showed them his power over Creation. It must have shocked them when a few soldiers arrested Jesus, tortured him, and crucified him. Did they wonder: Couldn't the man who calmed a storm at sea also find a way to escape an execution? I am sure thoughts ran rapidly through their heads. Eventually, they would understand that the cross was a place of power, too.
The Creator made it personal with them.
Does Jesus make things personal with us today?
Can He and why would He?
I am going to use this dream as an illustration this morning
Jesus on the Cross
On 8-12-19 I was dreaming that a door was opened and I walked up to it and looked through the opening. I saw into the past. I saw Jesus hanging on the Cross. He looked at me and I was looking into His eyes. The love and compassion that I saw was indescribable. The blood was flowing down His body. I could see where He had been whipped. I saw the crown of thorns on His head. I saw the blood as it covered His body. I felt such love like I have never known. I then looked away and looked at Him again through the door and I saw Him die for me. He had just made it personal with me. I knew what was coming next. I also knew that in 3 days He was going to rise again from the dead. I cannot explain how I felt upon awakening.
Jesus the Creator made some Joe time….
