SC Transfers All Five Cases Related To Unnao To Delhi, Asks CBI To Finish Probe In 7 Days..., In a big embarrassment for Uttar Pradesh government, Supreme Court today transferred all the cases related to Unnao rape from UP to Delhi. A bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi also set a seven-days deadline for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to finish the probe in the accident case.
Setting a deadline for trail as well, the apex court ordered the trial to be completed in 45 days on a day-to-day basis. The court also asked the Uttar Pradesh government to provide Rs 25 lakh interim compensation to the rape survivor and Rs 20 lakh compensation to the relatives, victim lawyer by tomorrow. It also asked the government to provide additional security to the relatives of the victim. SC said CRPF will provide security to the mother of Unnao rape survivor.
