My Syllabus, Chorus, Band, and Orchestra Handbook for Students and Parents

In this video Dr. Salvatore Vinciguerra discusses his class syllabus/Chorus, Band, and Orchestra Handbook. Dr. Vinciguerra has over 20 years of teaching experience in instrumental and choral music education. He first shares with you why it is important to create a syllabus or handbook for your class. Dr. Vinciguerra briefly discusses why students and parents need to have expectations for learning presented at the beginning of the school year. He then discusses each section of the handbook which includes a letter to parents, rules, regulations, and procedures, consequences for improper behavior, grading policy, awards, uniforms, what students need for music class, grading rubrics, practice chart, media release form, Miami-Dade County Public Schools contract for competitions and performances, fees, and a contract that both parents and students.
