Follow Up: Early, Often, and AGGRESSIVE! // Dan’s Daily Dose #217 Lack of leads Is NOT your problem. Your problem is the follow-up.
Most real estate agents SUCK at follow up.
Follow up early, follow up often, follow up aggressively.
Follow up consistently through every stage. There’s a study out from MIT that says following up on a lead within five minutes is about 1000x as effective as waiting for an hour.
If you don’t’ follow up quickly on online leads and referral leads, people will move on to the next agent who does.
Ask multiple times. On average, a sale can take 6 or 7 asks. Most agents get afraid of rejection and don’t follow up even once. If you take “No” on the first time, you’re only going to capture 10-20% of the sales that you could. You can 5x or 10x your business just by following up.
Follow up AGGRESSIVELY. Some will say “I don’t want to be too pushy,” but look: following up aggressively helps you, it helps your clients. Follow up with potential sellers, and it helps your buyers because you’ll have more properties to show them. If you follow up with buyers, that helps your current sellers. And if you’re pressing a person to decide, that often makes them happier. Indecision is NOT a happy place. It’s uncomfortable.
Get people to say YES or NO to you. If you do that, it will help you so much more than just increasing your lead generation would.
