This telescope has captured this photograph of a rare event that passed our Earth. We take a look at this incredible event that was captured by a telescope.

Thousands of asteroids can be found all across our solar system. The majority of them can be found in the main asteroid belt which is located between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. According to NASA, there are more than 25,000 asteroids near us of 140 meters in size at a minimum.

Additionally, there are plenty of other near-Earth objects that could be a threat to our planet, some of which are miles in diameter. NASA are constantly scanning the sky for near earth objects, these are small celestial bodies such as asteroids that could cause harm to the planet. This double asteroid was recently captured by a telescope as it passed Earth.
