After the Islamic State lost its foothold in Syria on March 23, 2019, many militants returned home after travelling abroad to support the group’s bid to form a caliphate in Iraq and Syria.

Febri Ramdhan is an Indonesian who managed to return to Jakarta before the fall of Isis, after spending a year in the war zone.

But now the Indonesian government considers the 25-year-old and other ISIS returnees to be a security threat.

NOTE: This video contains a correction to a previous version posted on June 14, which said the Ramdhan family returned to Indonesia after Isis lost its foothold in Syria.
