Our first animation for a TV-production aired June 24 in the UK for Channel 4 Dispatches. The program analyses breast implant associated disease, a condition recognized in the US, but not the UK. While most women have no problems, some suffer various health problems from fatigue, pain or even cancer. There is a rare condition referred to as BIA-ALCL or breast implant associated lymphoma. Immune cells accumulate in the fibrous tissue surrounding the implant starting to escape proliferation control. Thankfully, if caught early, the disease is easily controlled. But therefore people should know about it, and certainly be informed before they decide for the implant.
France has this year taken the precautionary measure to ban several types of structured implants.
