Being a doctor means lifetime of commitment. It takes a minimum of 10 years to start your career as a doctor most of which are spent doing inhuman hard work.
After all that, most doctors face some kind of harassment or violence at the workplace. The news of doctors being beaten has become so common that in most cases it doesn’t even raise an alarm.
Also most of these cases lead to no arrest because its done by a mob.
It takes 2 young interns fighting for their lives for us to realize that it could’ve been us.
Media and Politicians must understand that we go beyond the call of duty for our patients and we do not want to stop medical services. But feeling safe at work is a basic human necessity.
The profession that was a dream for many is turning into a nightmare. We as a society need to change before the younger generation stops opting for this profession. You owe it to yourself.
