"Let the dust form and cover my tracks" - the opening line of the classic 'Last Train'. The first time I met the band they were doing some demos in a cheap Leeds studio and they played that song. My face melted. I knew then I had to work with them. Featured here with ten other vintage Ghost Dance tracks from their deleted back catalogue, they prove an embarrassment of riches. I had the good fortune to work as producer on most of these songs. I was always there in spirit, but I stake no claim to the music - it was meant for you - take it to your hearts. "Take me anywhere but home". - Bill Spectre
"Richard Mazda’s treatment of the tunes is ok – I think he would have preferred a more organic line-up, certainly the drum machine sounds a bit lame on it now, but he brought a lot of energy to the studio. We asked him to play harmonica on Grip – he wasn’t wild about his performance but I thought it made for a good bonus track on the 12” and dubbed it ‘a cheaper blues version’ for fairly obvious reasons".
Look in my eyes and tell me it’s over
Tell me there’s nothing left inside
After all we’ve been through together
You know you couldn’t even if you tried
You’ll never free your heart from the grip of love
Remember the time you said forever
Was I dreaming I don’t know
You and I were so good together
Though it seems like years ago
You’ll never free your heart from the grip of love
You’ll never free your heart from the grip of love
Look in my eyes and tell me it’s over
Tell me there’s nothing left inside
After all we’ve been through together
You know you couldn’t even if you tried
You’ll never free your heart from the grip of love
