‘PRETTY INSANE’ #STEVENAVERY GOT ENGAGED VIA LETTER
SO WHAT DO YOU DO WITH ALL THESE LETTERS THAT ARE COMING IN TO YOU? MOST OF ‘EM - LIKE I JUST HAVE LIKE THIS - IF SOMEBODY WRITES ME ONCE, I’LL NEVER WRITE ‘EM.
JUST BECAUSE LIKE I DON’T KNOW WHO THEY ARE OR WHERE THEY’RE FROM. I’LL KEEP IT. IF IT’S LIKE A WEIRD LETTER I’LL SHRED IT UP AND THROW IT AWAY. IF IT’S LIKE A SUPPORTIVE LETTER, I’LL KEEP IT AROUND JUST LIKE A SUPPORTIVE LETTER.
AND THEN LIKE, LIKE I’VE SOME PEOPLE WRITE ME A SECOND, THIRD TIME BUT THEY’VE CHANGED THE WAY THEY TALK. OR LIKE THEY’VE SAID DIFFERENT THINGS.
THERE’S LIKE THIS DUDE IN LIKE CALIFORNIA THAT WROTE ME. HE’S LIKE A SENIOR IN HIGH SCHOOL. AND WROTE ME. IT’S LIKE, OKAY DUDE. I’LL LOOK AT THE NAME — SHRED IT UP, THREW IT AWAY.
HE WROTE ME AGAIN
LIKE LIKE TWO WEEKS
AGO. TOTALLY
DIFFERENT. NEVER
MENTIONED LIKE HIS
AGE. NEVER
MENTIONED SAID
ANYTHING LIKE HEY I
SUPPORT YOU.
ALL THIS, LIKE THAT.
LIKE IF I DIDN’T RECOGNIZE HIS NAME, I WOULDN’T HAVE KNOWN HE’S LIKE SOME 18-YEAR-OLD KID, SENIOR TRYIN’ TO, TRYIN’ TO PROBABLY JUST LIKE GET INFORMATION.
BECAUSE THERE’S BEEN LIKE JOURNALISTS AND LIKE OTHER PEOPLE LIKE YOU CAN KIND OF TELL. THEY ASK A LOT OF QUESTIONS. BUT I TRY TO LIKE TAKE INTO EFFECT WHO’S WRITING ME AND LIKE JUST NOT TO RESPOND.
LIKE I RESPONDED TO A FEW PEOPLE JUST BECAUSE LIKE EVEN MY PARENTS HAVE TALKED TO THEM ON THE OUTSIDE AND THEN I KIND OF KNOW LIKE HEY, THAT’S A REAL PERSON. OH.
BUT THERE’S SOME PEOPLE THAT LIKE - IT SEEMS THEY’RE JUST TRYING TO LIKE GET HELP FOR THEMSELVES, TOO. SOME PEOPLE ASK JUST FOR SPIRITUAL ADVICE.
THEY’RE ASKING FOR SPIRITUAL ADVICE FROM YOU?
YEAH AND LIKE YOU KNOW IF THEY’RE NOT ASKING ABOUT THE CASE, I’LL WRITE ‘EM BACK.
IF THEY ASK ABOUT THE CASE I DON’T WRITE ‘EM BACK. YOU THINK YOU’LL BE IN LOVE AGAIN?
BECAUSE THERE’S A LOT OF WOMEN OUT THERE THAT ARE IN LOVE WITH YOU. NO. I DON’T THINK THAT’S GONNA HAPPEN. I’M NOT THE GUY THAT’S DOWN THE STREET. WHATEVER HIS NAME IS.
[Steven Avery] I’VE HEARD ENOUGH ABOUT THAT GUY. WHAT HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT HIM?
HE GOT LIKE ENGAGED OVER A LETTER? HE DID, YEAH. THAT’S PRETTY INSANE. BUT YEAH, I DON’T SEE MYSELF BEING IN LOVE EVER AGAIN. DO YOU HAVE SOME LADIES THAT ARE GIVING YOU A LOT OF—TELLING YOU THAT THEY’RE IN LOVE WITH YOU AND THAT KIND OF STUFF?
I’VE GOTTEN A
COUPLE OF LETTERS
THAT ARE LIKE —
I HEAR YOU GET A
LOT OF
LETTERS FROM LADY
FRIENDS THAT TELL
YOU ALL YOU NEED
TO KNOW.
I’M LIKE, HONESTLY, I DON’T GET THOSE LETTERS. TRUST ME—LIKE I GUESS THERE WAS ONE LETTER IN COLORADO SOMEBODY SENT ME A PICTURE OF LIKE THEM IN A BIKINI.
AND THEN IT’S LIKE WENT ON FROM THERE. THAT WAS LIKE THE ONLY LETTER I EVER GOT THAT WAS LIKE THAT. BUT THE PRESS TOOK IT AND JUST WENT WITH IT. YEAH.
DID YOU EVER GET A REQUEST FROM THE PRESS? HMM MMN.
AND HOW DOES THAT WORK? TEAR IT UP, THROW IT AWAY. SO ARE YOU PERSONALLY ARE DECLINING? WELL I DON’T WRITE ‘EM BACK. WOULD THEY ALLOW YOU TO TALK WITH THEM?
WOULD THEY ALLOW THEM IN HERE TO TALK WITH YOU? I DON’T KNOW UH, I GUESS STATIONS HAVE ASKED TO COME IN HERE TO TALK WITH ME BUT THEY HAD TOLD THEM NO.
BUT THEN AGAIN LETTERS FROM LIKE DENVER STATIONS AND WHAT NOT WANTING TO TALK WITH ME AND IN QUOTATION MARKS “OFF THE RECORD” I’M LIKE YEAH RIGHT.
ANYTHING I WRITE—YEAH, YOU’RE RIGHT. SO…YEAH I JUST TEAR IT UP, THROW IT AWAY.
HAVE YOU THOUGHT ABOUT LIKE WRITING A BOOK OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT? NAW, THAT’S - NOTHING LIKE THAT.
WE—MY MOM AND
DAD—I’M SORRY
WHAT WERE YOU
GOING TO SAY?
NO GO AHEAD.
MY MOM AND DAD
HAVE BEEN SAYING
MAYBE YOU SHOULD
WRITE DOWN HOW YOU FEEL
OR HOW YOU’VE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS TYPE OF THING.
AND JUST WRITE IT DOWN AND THAT WOULD BE MY STORY BUT I’M JUST LIKE I’M NOT GONNA WRITE A BOOK.
THAT’S NOT ME…
THAT’S NOT ME.
“I’m 5’6”, 130 lbs, dark brown hair and green eyes. I’m full-blooded Italian. Before I was a felon, I was a Paramedic and am now a Certified Personal Trainer.”
“Is there anything I can send you? Just want to be a friend…”
Anna “Hannah” Crall of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, wrote to Chris Watts. The police officer's wife went to jail after pleading guilty to taking $60,000 from donors who believed she had terminal cancer.
Ann Crall admitted theft and charity fraud on Friday and was sentenced on April 28, 2011. Crall began her scam in the autumn of 2005, telling people that she had stage-four cancer and was beginning treatment, police say.
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe in Me as well. In My Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and welcome you into My presence, so that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.” John 14:1-4
