Want a Hyundai Kona Electric, Kia Niro EV? It's Harder Than It Looks (Staff Car Update)

Want a Hyundai Kona Electric, Kia Niro EV? It's Harder Than It Looks (Staff Car Update) Here at Transport Evolved, we not only cover cleaner, greener, safer and smarter transportation, but we also live it too.

Collectively, there are four plug-in vehicles on the Transport Evolved fleet -- and we use them as our daily drivers. But up in Washington state, our very own Kate Walton-Elliott is struggling to buy a new plug-in car to replace her aging 2003 RAV4 EV.

While the car itself is just fine, a lack of public inductive charging infrastructure (a standard that's completely deprecated by the auto industry) means that Kate and her partner are now looking for a new plug-in car.

They've decided that the Hyundai Kona Electric and Kia Niro EV would be good candidates -- but buying one is proving a lot harder than it looks.
