IPL 2019, CSK vs KXIP: CSK skipper MS Dhoni lost his cool on Deepak Chahar as he lashed out at the pacer for back-to-back no balls. The bowler responded with a wicket at the end of the over.
There were two rare scenes that were noticed at the Chepauk stadium during the match between Chennai Super Kings and Kings XI Punjab in the ongoing IPL 2019 on Saturday (April 6). After MS Dhoni's classic no-look flick at the stumps failed to dislodge the stubborn bails making KL Rahul the luckiest batsman on the field, the CSK skipper, hailed as 'Captain Cool' by the world of cricket, was seen fuming at bowler Deepak Chahar after back-to-back no balls. And the pacer bounced back with the dismissal of David Miller.
In the first ball of the 19th over, the ball had slipped out of Chahar's hand as it went for a full toss above waist height. Sarfaraz reached out for it and smashed it for a four down to the third-man fence. Another full-toss above the waist height followed in, in the very next delivery as Sarfaraz snatched a double.
Chahar then conceded five straight singles before dismissing Miller for a score of five. It was a length ball on the stumps that Miller looked to strike big over mid-on, he failed to make the connection as the ball castled down the leg stump. It was indeed a massive comeback from the pacer as he brought the equation to 26 off the final over.
Debutant Scott Kuggeleijn was given the responsibility for the last over. With slower deliveries and cutters, the New Zealand pacer outfoxed Sarfaraz before dismissing him in the fourth ball. CSK eventually managed to win the match by 22 runs. The win put Chennai Super Kings back on top of the points table with eight points from five games losing only once - versus Mumbai Indians.
