FREE Voxengo TUBE AMP explained, analyzed & in a MIX

FREE Voxengo TUBE AMP explained, analyzed & in a MIX #FREE Voxengo Tube Amp (VST/AAX/AU):

Despite what the name may suggest Voxengo Tube Amp is not a complete amplifier for guitars, it is only the part of the circuit where the typical coloration of a guitar amplifier occurs. If we look at Q-Clone we will see how even when we change DRIVE and BIAS the frequency response remains quite flat with the exception of LP FREQ which is not a control commonly found in guitar amplifiers either.

Additionally, the plugin offers two different circuits identified as MODE 1 and 2 and the rest of the usual Voxengo #plugin features.

The flat frequency response means that this plug models a guitar preamp without its tone controls (which are known to be far from being flat even in their center position) which makes it perfect for mixing since we can use it as a saturator in any type of instruments without affecting their tone.

In its initial position, the plugin offers a pleasant and almost inaudible #saturation with the great quality that we are used to hear in Voxengo products.

BIAS offers the possibility of modifying the saturation to adapt it to the sound that you are processing, simply move the control until you find the sweet spot, it won't break anything.

Use OUT GAIN to match the volume of the processed audio with the original track. DRIVE can cause excessive amount of harmonics in the high frequency area, use LP FREQ to counteract this or simply to create a warmer and more discreet sound.
